We will be demonstrating a working system of robots with sensors for our NATO sponsor on Aug 29, 2023 at Franklin and Marshall College. This demo will consist of two robots working in tandem at the F&M site in a simulated minefield with buried mine simulants and clutter. In addition, we will demonstrate tripwire detection in the field and detection of surface objects (in the form of mine simulants placed above ground in the field). One of these robots has a holographic subsurface radar sensor for imaging buried objects, and the other has a tripwire detection camera with automated detection. Both robots will follow a pre-programmed course and will be guided by GPS (with no operator control). A third robot, which is also part of the team, will remain in Jordan and will demonstrate a metal detector sensor on buried objects in an exact replica of the test field at F&M.

Landmine detection, also known as demining, is the critical process of identifying and locating landmines that are buried deep in the ground. Landmines are frequently deployed in conflict regions, posing a significant threat to both civilian and military personnel as they often remain active for years or decades post conflict. [...]
